Borthwick Summer 2005 Update
Serving together with Development Associates International (www.daintl.org)

Greetings friends,

Summer greetings from Paul & Christie Borthwick. ÊWe thank God for a slower pace and the time to regroup, get organized, and plan for the Fall (which will include at least three international ministry trips -- Russia, Sri Lanka, and India).

Ê We'll be in touch later into July with our schedule updates as well as some details concerning some exciting new opportunities for partnership with global leaders in our DAI "Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership" program Ê(see www.daintl.org/about/MADegree.htm), but in this brief note, we're writing with two updated PRAYER REQUESTS:

STUDIES: Christie continues at Gordon-Conwell Seminary studying towards the Master of Arts in Counseling degree; she's currently studying "Cross-Cultural Counseling" -- while still managing our DAI administrative matters & working 1-2 days per week at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital microbiology lab. ÊPaul continues work on his dissertation & time is allotted in July & August for LOTS of work on this. ÊPlease pray for DILIGENCE for both of us.

OFF TO ISRAEL & PALESTINE: ÊPaul leaves July 1st for Israel where he'll be joining with a dozen or so Palestinian Christian leaders to facilitate a 1-week module focusing on "Spiritual Health for Christian Leaders." Working along side of his friend Yacoub [Jack] Sara, a pastor in Old Jerusalem and coordinator of ALTI (the Alliance Leadership Training Institute) Paul will be using DAI's "Spiritual Formation" Course and personal research to help the group rekindle their "first love" for Jesus. The visit will include preaching at Yacoub's church (July 3), part of the "Evangelical Alliance Church in the Holy Land" (see www.each-cma.org) and if possible, a visit to Bethlehem Bible College.

Ê PLEASE PRAY:

  • For discernment and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit on what materials will be most useful for these leaders
  • For the ability to encourage leaders who serve and minister with people who live under daily pressure
  • For commitment to listen & learn
THANK YOU for your interest, prayers & support.

In Christ,

Christie & Paul Borthwick
